  1. From @TechnOntologist, for @TEDxMidAtlantic attendees: I still have some spare GoogleWave invites to give #TEDxMid followers.
  2. I just became the mayor of Tapas Teatro on @foursquare! http://bit.ly/7621F1
  3. Current headline re: "30% drop in MD Millionaires" is stupid. The drop is in annual income > $1M, not net worth. Chill, people.
  4. I really enjoy the small, subtle differences between the iPhone simulator and the actual device. Thanks, Apple, for keeping things fun!
  5. @bryanl @amyhoy yeah, most definitely. If you call yourself a visionary, you aren't. Visionaries exist in a perpetual state of self-doubt.
  6. @amyhoy heh, yes, it's key. I've covered that extensively in previous tweets. :)
  7. Realists see things as they are today; visionaries see things as they can be, and catalyze the change.
  8. @KAIZENcoach cities came to be seen as undesirable b/c of manufacturing, pollution, sin, etc; no one thought about true costs of suburbs.
  9. @sheperdfx if you liked Food, Inc, check out Joel Salatin's talk at @TEDxMidAtlantic. Great stuff.
  10. We need to stand up to the politicians (crooks) that run (sap) our cities and force change. Realign tax base; deauthorize fiefdoms.
  11. @eDahms economics is the only answer. envy + fear. carrot + stick. Need to set just a few good examples + lead the way. Reclaim the cities.
  12. @eDahms It's not only civil engineering. It's design thinking; transportation; education; food; politics; economics; power.
  13. Timidity begets mediocrity. Challenge yourself.
  14. @gregorylent yes, agreed. I'm think I'm describing a 20 to 30-year process. Good news is that younger generation shows signs of getting it.
  15. @gregorylent if the suv-set starts to think they are being left out of something good/enviable, change will occur.
  16. @gregorylent agree on gas pricing. Thought leadership goes a long way, though. Need to make suburbanites feel like they are losing out.
  17. There is nothing about the suburbs that confers any long-term competitive advantage to anyone. Just time wasted on stupid designs.
  18. We in the US have a choice to make: functional cities, or a long-term decline in relative standard of living.
  19. @alexanderkahn Agree that healthcare is also very broken. I think food may be in even worse shape.
  20. @jamesbt they are not the only route, just the lowest cost route. Those with the lowest costs win.
