Apparently Xilinx's Spartan-6 AXI PCIe core uses AXI4-*stream*; so I have to write a whole new bus wrapper anyway (probably plain AXI)

Oh, that's just brilliant. Whoever assembled my Xilinx SP605 board managed to load the molex power connector backwards (12V on 5V!).
