  2. I'm awaiting the return of rescued 3-yr old Luke Finch at the dock in Ft Myers. Should be live at 530.
  3. On my way to Ft. Myers for reunion of Cocoa mom with missing three-year old, Luke Finch. Found by Coast Guard in boat on Gulf.

  9. No matter how many launches I see, I'm knocked over every time. The glare of the boosters is blinding; the rumble is indescribable.

  11. Now in the final hold, and weather is go. Plenty of clouds around, so not a sure thing, but Spaceflight Meteorology Group forecasting go.
  12. Another heavy deck of clouds over KSC right now - they'll be in and out.
  13. A communications check and a "good morning" just now from shuttle's commander, who goes by nickname "Scorch." It's from fighter pilot days.
  14. Astronauts are driving by my location now at KSC, helo overhead. Patches of sunshine, but weather is no-go at the moment. Should change.
  15. Astronauts on their way to the launch pad now under broken clouds.
  16. T-minus three hours and now counting.
  17. Looking at satellite view of clouds - trend looks good; they're thinning out.
  18. Solid mass of clouds moving over the Space Coast off the Atlantic. Should break up enough by launch time, but weather odds down to 70%.
  19. 90% chance of good weather for Monday's shuttle launch - 2:28pm.
  20. No new launch date for Atlas. It'll be sometime after Monday's shuttle launch.
