  1. This was, in retrospect, apparently the wrong week to bench Kurt Warner as a fantasy football starting QB.
  2. Don't know which is more ridiculous: That USC moved up in the polls, or that an Ohio State team they beat is now ahead of them.
  3. @KColello Shoot. USC isn't a Top 25-calibre team right now. But voters are lazy and entrenched. And a couple teams below them lost.
  4. I can easily see USC losing to both Stanford *and* Arizona down the stretch if they don't get right.
  5. USC pulls out a win. Any voter who has this team in the Top 20 should have their head examined.
  6. @Tamara_B And most of the calls against USC have been for general thuggery. Because we're thugs. Fight on.
  7. @Tamara_B The refs have called 9 penalties on USC, 7 on ASU. That's not particularly uneven.
  8. Oh good gracious. I know Anthony McCoy is a big loss, but why can't any of USC's reserve tight ends CATCH THE BALL.
  9. @klerner Reception and dissemination of information have always been hierarchical. Before, it was a class issue. Now it's just choice.
  10. @klerner And even with old media, people could get news from a reputable paper or from People magazine. Awareness is never mandatory.
  11. @klerner Most many-to-many news services (Twitter, RSS feeds, whatever) are self-selected. People get the news they need or want.
  12. @klerner And yes, it's my assumption that my nattering on new media seems *extra* sage next to an adorable pig avatar.
  13. @klerner Or, in a populist many-to-many news system, what's popular *is* what's important.
  14. @klerner In an ego-driven news system, what's important to you is assumed to be what's important to others.
  15. Taylor Mays needs to understand that it's OK to be a thug, but if the only time we hear his name every game is on penalties...
  16. Watching USC this season just isn't fun. I want a rout. Like Penn 42 Princeton 7. Go Quakers.
  17. Interesting that Kikkoman is attempting to trademark the sensation of "umami." I mostly think of Kikkoman as "salty."
  18. According to @AmalieBenjamin , the Red Sox have acquired Jeremy Hermida, a move that has backfired on several of my fantasy baseball teams.
  19. Phillies win. And now Philadelphia's future is on Pedro Martinez's slight shoulders, which is just kinda funny.
  20. It's not that the Phillies don't *want* to win this game. They just don't have any real urgency.
