@ Well, we're scaling width while keeping height const. So it's a tradeoff of dropping res or increasing distortion.

@ I don't think a choice would be worth the added complexity to CSS. Also,for high-res images we're def better off rounding.

.@ rounding up won't cause gaps; we're scaling the image, not spacing it. Does mean less distortion from orig. But also lower res

'round' is like 'repeat' except it resizes the image so it repeats whole # of tiles. Q is whether to scale bitmaps up+down or always shrink.

For border-image 'round' tiling, should raster images round to nearest whole number of tiles (up or down) or round to always scale down?
