@craigmod The "Open" and "Save" panels were created for the original 128KB Mac, because it couldn't run Finder as well as an app.

But OS X is not yet iOS. I love the versioning and auto-saving; Save As deserves to disappear, but perhaps not so suddenly.

Lots of venom over the changes in OS X save dialogs! FWIW — I completely understand what Apple is trying to do: obfuscate the file system.

The whole "Save a Version" / "Duplicate" functionality in contemporary OS X apps is driving me bananas. Possible to revive "Save As"?
