  1. rails 3 apps won't be namespaceable until ActiveRecord stops thinking it's the only ActiveRecord class in the ruby process :(
  2. @lukeredpath it's more complex than that, my ARs are namespaced like Foo::AR::Base but it looks in the root ::AR::Base regardless
  3. ActiveRecord doesn't like migrating if you have more than one database, because Migration refers to AR::Base.connection :/
  4. @gilesgoatboy i believe he meant - the tool song says you had sold out before anyone heard your name, so STFU to anyone who says otherwise.
  5. @zoetica getting married?
  6. @evan http://img.skitch.com/20100105-kycpssadrq127neusjwj4c3a7d.jpg google result for "sphinx 1.1"
  7. It's always neat to go to a company doing smart work (devver, looking at you) and finding they're using our @tenderapp for support. :)
  8. @timothyaclark pics or it didn't happen
  9. @timothyaclark is that dangerous?
  10. Downside of growing a beard in australia: my face is hot and my lip is itchy. Upside: less shaving time. That's it, so far.
  11. @mislav @wycats +1 on mounting / namespaced rails apps
  12. @peterc you probably won't be able to get a SSN without a valid work visa, but maybe starting a LLC in the US will work? (corporate card)
  13. @peterc you can get a US taxpayer ID if you, say, want to invest, then get a secured card ("prepaid") based on that.
  14. Learning about data warehousing - turns out I wasn't too far off, just didn't have enough Enterprise Bullshit Speak to explain the ideas.
  15. where do you australian people buy your obscure electronics online? (no amazon? wtf?) need a parallel print server..
  16. what would a rack based http client look like? http://github.com/technoweenie/alice (via @technoweenie) (result of 5am chats gone bad)
  17. However, urc still isn't a fucking word, fidgy was ridiculous, and gort is that robot from that old movie. Go scrabble!
  18. According to @technoweenie, twire is actually a word. It means, amongst other things, to sing, or twitter. Sigh.
  19. Playing online scrabble. It wasn't until "twire" that we realized: there were no dictionary checks. That was after urc, fidgy, and gort. Ha!
  20. VERY EXCITED about rails 3's ability to namespace an entire rails app. Rack::Builder to mount multiple non-conflicting apps, yes please!
