  6. Vista update saga: Vista SP2 finally installed. I have started installing the next set of updates.
  7. Vista update saga: Insufficient disk space to install Vista SP2. I deleted all Visual Studio Express software, and now I'm trying again.
  8. Vista update saga: Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 installed. Now downloading Vista SP2.
  9. Vista update saga continues. I disabled hibernation so I could delete the 1.98 GB hibernation file using Disk Cleaner.
  10. Still updating Vista on my MacBook Pro. Apparently I don't have enough disk space to install SP2; fails with "unknown error".
  11. I don't update Vista on my MacBook Pro very often. I have 61 updates, with a download size of 486 MB, after already installing 8 updates.
  12. Adobe Updater wants me to close all browsers before it will finish the update. Not until I'm finished reading the Internet.
  13. Installing Adobe Acrobat 9.2 for Mac OS X. Download is 103 MB. Operating systems used to be smaller than this!
  14. Slashdot reads like News of the Weird today: Facebook user arrested for poke. Marge Simpson in Playboy. Blogger loses unemployment benefits.
  15. just finished “Quicksilver” by Neal Stephenson. What a great book! I’m glad there are two more volumes of the Baroque Cycle for me to read.
  16. At last, all the Shakti albums are available at iTunes of Amazon MP3. Listening to “Get Down and Sruti”.

  18. Finished listening to the audiobook of “The Magicians,” by Lev Grossman. It was good but not great—very 21st century in tone.
