  1. increasingly, my days seem to include "break for cupcakes". hmm.
  2. ready for the next lap: end-of-season financial sorting (paychecks, yay!) followed by planning for CFK bakery tomorrow!
  3. cooking is DONE. for EVER. Now it's just tub-ing, labeling, sorting out, and other Last Things.
  4. really truly the last lap of CFK season 3. Celebrating by cooking with the world's most valuable substance: saffron. feeling extravagant!
  5. the ebb and flow of the workday--from crazy-stressed to super-chill in the space of an hour. thank heavens for the cooking crew!
  6. pumpkin bread = delicious smells. Kimchee = my best effort yet. Rutaloaf = yum. the day is going well...!
  7. kitchen crew almost run off the road by enraged driver. dude, it's a 25 mph zone--what do you want from me? fortunately, all well now!
  8. heading to @aafarmersmarket for a few needed ingredients and to gossip with friends. then heading to the kitchen!
  9. am having a private @dirtydirtybirds and @charlenekaye concert on my ipod since I can't be in NYC for the big show tonight.
  10. another less-crazy day. running errands, trying to get tix to the Berlin Philharmonic, taking care of details.
  11. doing little things, wasting time, it's good to have a bit of a breather after last week's long haul.
  12. So much fooooooooood! Hooray for Mother Earth! Hope you brought your bags, CFK-ers!
  13. flippin' burgers--beet and carrot burgers, that is. and by flipping, I mean forming into patties and baking. yum.
  14. Amanda and Jason are almost done chopping ALL the napa cabbage EVER. I thought I'd never live to see the day... ;-)
  15. Back to the kitchen. today's project: lots of roots! something to make a hobbit smile... :-)
  16. everything still fits in the 'fridge, so that's a win, then. :-)
  17. too busy to tweet! Mashed potatoes and pears with leeks unexpectedly delicious. White Bean-kale soup still a winner (hint: curry and squash)
  18. sauerkraut--so tasty; so salty. kimchee is in the crocks, ready to ferment. Now cleaning leeks.
  19. the fermentation day begins! Sauerkraut, kimchee, and pickled daikons are all planned for today. Plus we have a great team in the kitchen!
  20. my car smells like leeks. now what to do with them??
