  1. The book is called MATH GAMES-180 Activities to Motivate, Excite, and Challenge Students. I see 180 pages of worksheets. Bad ones at that.
  2. I've been corresponding with 10 yr old student for 2 yrs. When she was 9 she asked if I could put calculus on the site. Amazing.
  3. A brilliant 10 yr old writes to me a few times/yr via Math Playground. Today is one of those times. Makes me think very deeply about math.
  4. @jimwysocki Of that I am sure. Works every time.
  5. @bbarreda That's an endorsement! How do you like it? Is there backlighting for reading in the dark?
  6. All set for tonight's math olympiad. It's really a pizza party but the only way to get the kids there was to include some math. ;)
  7. Books I ordered from Amazon (and can't wait to get) have been in transit from a location <20 miles away for 4 days. Detours?
  8. @climeguy Good luck with your math 2.0 presentation!
  9. @SweenWSweens This math prezi was done by @pvnotp http://prezi.com/aww2hjfyil0u/
  10. RT @riggins X has 2 legs so it can stand on its own thus its independent. Y has only 1 leg & can't stand on its own, thus its dependent.
  11. @k8nowak On a positive note, things can only get better tomorrow, right? I sure hope so.
  12. @mccormickmath For motivation, have you tried connecting math to real life (things that matter to them). How about games? Interactives?
  13. @speters Thanks for sharing your colleague's thoughts about Math Playground! (I forget to check my @ replies - missed this one)
  14. @busynessgirl I agree about flashing ads. Do you have another income model in mind? Sites with original content require many hours of work.
  15. @teryl_magee Giving out math problems would make us the weird couple. Giving out lozenges would make us the *creepy* weird couple. ;-)
  16. Maybe I'll give each child a math problem to solve first. That'll reduce the number for next year. ;-)
  17. Had to buy 12 bags of candy this year. Last year we bought 10 and ran out before 8:00. Nice weather + Saturday = tons of trick or treaters
  18. @d_tremblay Have you done any more Flash animations? Would love to see examples. My latest is http://www.MathApprentice.com
  19. @weemooseus Thanks. Seemed like so much bandwidth when I signed up. Thought it would be like running out of a billion dollars.
  20. @d_tremblay You can't beat unlimited. I signed up w/ my hosting co back when bandwidth was a premium. Should look at other options. Thanks!
