  1. From @chronicle: "Title IX Includes Maternal Discrimination" http://bit.ly/63rjb6 [On "leaky pipeline" in STEM acad. resrch] #geekfeminism
  2. .@save4use @archivesnext i agree about the badge lanyards; seems unprofessional to me. context is everything.
  3. @katrinagulliver I've always assumed it was for easier reproduction via old-fashioned photographic darkroom methods.
  4. Phil Agre wrote "Networking on the Network," one of the first guides I ever read to academic professional networking: http://bit.ly/5rb6s
  5. RT @chronicle: Friends trying to cast wide net to find missing UCLA prof, Philip Agre. http://bit.ly/2hoKku FB group: http://bit.ly/os6yQ
  6. KKK in Mississippi plans to protest prohibition of Ole Miss fight song, "From Dixie With Love" http://bit.ly/3aFCy4 (via @academicdave)
  7. @Airminded The kookiness of the death ray plans I found makes me a little sad I can't put my research images online for others' amusement.
  8. @profsyn Anecdotally, women and men get v. different #jobmarket responses when mentioning kids in interviews. Sadly, it's gender-bias bait.
  9. @diss_funktion: thanks.
  10. @Airminded Last fall, I found someone's kooky 1940s plans for a death ray in (of all places) the Virginia governor's papers @ Library of VA.

  12. @Airminded I started off grad school writing in #LaTeX but the lack of a good Chicago-A bib format sent me elsewhere eventually.
  13. RT @janaremy: Bumper sticker at Huntington Library: "Archivists make it last longer."
  14. @lawhistory I've been using #legalhistory but haven't seen anyone else doing likewise. You might poll #twitterstorians for more LH people.
  15. @katrinagulliver Footnotes are v. configurable; not in-text like Scriv; i recommend playing with the "markers" features.
  16. @katrinagulliver #Mellel's style system is much cleaner than Word's and produces nicer looking documents once you get the hang of it.
  17. @katrinagulliver I love #Mellel with a passion. It doesn't have clean @zotero integration but it's *very* good as a scholarly wp.
  18. @maureenogle I'd love to know the answer too. GBooks metadata is horrible as is; needs tidying 1st. Ask @OCLC #librarians #archivists
  19. The Spanish-language media in PR has been carrying that hate crime story well; also, follow @PJ_Serrano who's on top of it.
  20. Brutal murder of gay teen in Puerto Rico is like Matthew Shepard all over again; US mainland media is barely noticing http://bit.ly/3NeWVq
