@ Screen readers read those tags in the PDF. Since we tech writers create and dispose PDFs, we need the authoring tool to create them

@ I don't think conditions would accomplish the same thing. Adobe tags express the structure of the PDF: text, heading, figure, etc.

@ Can't add tags on the way out to PDF, can't add alt tags as a portable property of each image are the two that most concern my team.
