  1. Why is Daydream Believer rattling around in my head? Help! Get it out!
  2. Personally I don't think the ETS goes far enough; we need higher reductions. But it's a start. Just grow up & pass it.
  3. A democracy is only as strong as its opposition. & right now our opposition is looking very weak.
  4. It's just political manoeuvring & they can't let go of the Howard era. They need to.
  5. I don't see why the Liberals are putting up such resistance to the ETS. Even if it is blocked, Rudd will just call an early election in 2010
  6. I feel a little sorry for Turnbull. He's been trying to do the right thing (for once) & been ambushed by his party. He doesn't deserve it.
  7. I still can't believe the drama that's been going on in Canberra the last few days. Makes Neighbours and Home & Away look tame.
  8. Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in the US. Hope you have a wonderful day.
  9. A pawn? I object! I am so not a pawn. Humph. ~ What Chess Piece Are You? http://tinyurl.com/ycmf3qt
  10. And the show seemed to drag. Badly. I think it needs freshening up next year.
  11. I guess I'd have liked to have seen the awards shared a little more. Particularly with Eskimo Joe & Paul Dempsey.
  12. The ARIAs just seem to get more predictable every year. It's often more about rewarding a new act which dominates all the awards.
  13. Not sure what to make of the ARIAs. Glad Sarah Blasko & Empire of the Sun won but did AC/DC really deserve to win? Black Ice was terrible!
  14. I'd have expected something to do with healthcare to feature more prominently. Or climate change. Interesting
  15. I never would have predicted admonish. Compared to last year (bailout), it seems few of the words are from events that dominated headlines.
  16. Missed this the other day. ~ Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year 2009: Admonish | Merriam-Webster Online http://bit.ly/3ur9xv
  17. @BillHarper Oh it is. I just can't believe I sent some of them to publishers. I was nowhere near ready. Luckily they were very helpful.
  18. I've got all my writing in several folders. Must be 1000s of pages there. I think I've probably written well over 3 million words now. Wow!
  19. But those stories taught me a lot about writing & it's interesting looking back. The ideas are good. I might be able to use them later on.
  20. I mean, I'm proud of everything I've written. It's just I've come such a long way since then. Hard to believe I wrote some of them.
