  1. Shut Up and Write, my household's weekly writing night, just turned into Shut Up and Code. It'll revert back in November, I'm sure.
  2. Why are there still plenty of user interfaces where you need to click a tiny delete icon 100 times to delete 100 rows from a table?
  3. Finished writing #750words; I've been doing this on my own for a while, but I like the part where I get a cookie for doing it online.
  4. I like coding. I like designing. I know people that do one but not the other. I'm glad I don't always have to. bit.ly/ptAy6H
  5. Adventures thus far with Hurricane Irene: pounding rain, crippling levels of humidity, and inability to lock doors or wash dishes. #irene
  6. Reduce the number of setup screens before doing something useful in your app. UX principle of the day. We're making progress.
  7. I shouldn't get distracted by how cute the wireframes for this project are. But -- hand-drawn sketchy graphics are cute!
  8. Can anyone really write a journal entry before midnight? Or is that sort of writing always fueled by adrenaline, insomnia, and incoherence?
  9. I will now express mild annoyance towards websites that look amazing in a browser but don't have a decent mobile version. Expressing done.
  10. It's easy to tell you've been typing rather than writing too much: pens suddenly start to HURT when you hold them too long.
  11. I'm doing a UROP at Media Lab this fall! This apparently involves a lot of paperwork. Next step: student employment and obtaining a new ID.
  12. Created this so that I'd have a public twitter account to feed into my blog. Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
