  1. @Ruaidhri_M Heh:)
  2. @jonnyfallon Lol:)
  3. @Fergal Ah, you're talking specifically about teachers *penny drops* Yeah, that's just fucked up. Don't know how it'll work out.
  4. @jonnyfallon Anyway, it's too late to get into this. Let's agree that I'm right and you're loyal to FF :D
  5. @jonnyfallon Think FF have spent too long trying to keep the wrong people happy and forgotten about the big picture.
  6. @jonnyfallon It's not about keeping everyone happy, it's about doing what's you think is right and best for the country!
  7. @Fergal I don't follow you. It's 12 additional days off next year, right? This year they got a similar pay cut but still had to go to work.
  8. @john_mcguirk Don't take her over to your dark side. @ElaineEdwards RUN! ESCAPE WHILE YOU CAN!
  9. @ElaineEdwards That's rational, not spoilt :D
  10. @Fergal Yup. Spoonful of sugar, I guess. P.S. workers had 6-10% cut last year, average of 7% cut if this 12 day thing comes in. Fuckedola.
  11. @john_mcguirk Au contraire, mon ami. People will want to get their wages back to where they were. This is just a year-by-year thing.
  12. @ElaineEdwards I'd imagine that the govt and unions can use their combined super-powers to change the terms of contracts
  13. @john_mcguirk @ElaineEdwards I wonder how much it will actually save. Productivity will drop (although spending will prob increase?).
  14. @john_mcguirk Some day we'll find something we agree on. Maybe not in the near future, but some day :)
  15. @KarenMMcCormack The Indo is a bit of a joke. Missing basic facts and substituting rants for news. Total mess.
  16. @ElaineEdwards Exactly! If a pay cut has to happen (and that's a whole other argument), then this is the fairest way.
  17. @TomTDowling It's roughly a 7% pay cut for public sector workers and will save close to €1bn. Pretty decent compromise.
  18. @handelaar If that's true then it's workable.
  19. @handelaar With the point about schools? Def, but a Senator (Jim Walsh?) made the point that teachers could take their 20 days in July/Aug.
  20. The Indo, IBEC, FG and most Liveline listeners are dead against public sector unpaid leave. This makes me suspect it's a really good plan.
