  1. Made it to DC. Lots of snow on the ground here. They are still plowing parts of the airport. Have 90 min to charge laptop for next flight.
  2. On my way to Amsterdam via Washington IAD. Hope they've cleared the snow by now.
  3. About to have lunch with @gaiusdrusus at Tuk Tuk Thai in Berkeley. Leaving early tomorrow morning for Holland.
  4. Overheard at work: can i have an upside down taco.
  5. Getting feedback on a conference call, as usual, the person who says 'Everything sounds fine' is the culprit. With him muted it is perfect.
  6. Trying to meditate while on a conference call. "Words come, words go, but my mind is a clear blue sky."
  7. I am not big on coupons, but Bed Bath & Beyond makes it worth it. Just got ab average of 28% discount on about $60 of stuff.
  8. At AnnaLise's party with @mydogatemycat, eating lots of vegan sweets.
  9. @gaiusdrusus yes, I run dd-wrt at home on my Buffalo router
  10. Having dinner with Piero and Abeba at cafe colucci in Oakland. Good to have Ethiopian food with a native. http://yfrog.com/1yu54sj
  11. At Asha event with Jina at the Berkeley iHouse, called Images of India.
  12. @JonasSKarlsson I found a Dell that also has an i7 instead of Xeon that is $1000 cheaper. The 27" is still a good deal.
  13. RT @elaineishere: RT @drgrist In making buildings more efficient, it helps to understand human behavior: http://bit.ly/8Nc6ow
  14. Suprising, just priced a Dell Quad Core desktop (no screen) and compared it to 27" iMac with i7. iMac is $2550 vs Dell $3000. Dell is slower
  15. @mightyohm the non-efficient way we do it in climate chambers is run the compressor full time, and PID control electric resistance heaters.
  16. @mightyohm that seems hard on the compressor. I can't imagine it likes switching on and off at high rates. But I guess you've done it before
  17. @mightyohm are those fridges compressor driven? Will you run the compressor on a PID, or add a small heating element?
  18. What is your monthly PG&E bill for November?
  19. PG&E bill: $21 ($9 electric and $10.84 gas + taxes). I can tell that I'm running the gas heater again.
  20. Having Picantes lunch with @rajanirajani and delivering NYT plastic bags from @augustahopkins
