  5. Bohemian Rhapsody as maybe it was meant to be :-) The Muppets remember Queen http://bit.ly/4SO25l
  6. @conortwomey Thanks Conor. It was a fun presentation to give..
  7. @davidmccormack But we have 2-3 different levels too - in addition to 2 papers per exam! Applied LC, vocational LC, traditional LC...
  8. @davidmccormack In Ireland ? But not in most other countries ? Ireland seems to be almost the only country with two papers per subject ?
  9. @davidmccormack do we need it ? Does it really help - the CAO points system for example ?
  10. @akohli yep. agreed.
  11. @sdempsey Interesting, thanks Shane.
  12. @darachennis Agree. But is the leaving cert structure unnecessarily complex ?
  13. @akohli But we already have not only traditional Leaving Cert, but also Leaving Cert Vocational Programme and Leaving Cert Applied ?
  14. @thejetset Never waste a good (economic) crisis :-)
  15. @sdempsey Shane, thanks, that helps set the historical context, much appreciated!
  16. @jkeyes Is that really the sole reason ? Jobs for the profession ? Maybe you're right, but I'm hoping there's a better reason... :-)
  17. @thejetset Sorry! I don't make it either, but wonder if it needs changing. Right now, I don't see justification for a 2-tier structure.
  18. @thejetset But an A is more difficult than a B which is more difficult than a C which is harder than a D which is tougher than an E.. ??
  19. Why does Ireland have "pass" & "honours" leaving cert papers? Why not just a paper per subject - like other countries ? Anyone explain ??
  20. @ghartnett @stevegoz Thanks guys, have one already...
