  1. Have just discovered a dead rat beside the compost bin--possibly a present from the neighbour's cat. But better than a live one inside it!
  2. @hollowaynz Nice.
  3. @00k I've started using --; but it's still annoying!
  4. @librarythingtim Yes, it's on the long side (well over 2 hours), but was definitely worth seeing. The CGI is *very* realistic.
  5. Annoyed that so many overseas web forms make State/Province/Region required as part of an address. What do other Kiwis do?
  6. @jencrothers I enjoyed it, but partly because I kept thinking how seamless the technology was. I'm inclined to agree with Newitz, though.
  7. @librarythingtim It was a comment about the plot, not the quality.
  8. @ranginui No, just the regular version.
  9. Back from seeing Avatar at the Embassy. Definitely worth seeing! J said it reminded him of Dances with Wolves.
  10. Back inside after eating lunch beside the pond to enjoy the sun. Saw all three baby fish this time--the secret? Staying very, very still.
  11. There is something immensely satisfying about solving my problems myself. Have now converted a wma file into ogg using WinFF.
  12. Purchased a pdf version of a research report today. The report looks good, but the email delivering it came from 'test test' #testingfail
  13. @taonga That's not quite fair. I did get approval for you to go to the NDF, but things didn't work out.
  14. @tararobertson When our cats were kittens they preferred to play with the yarn. They didn't seem that interested in knitting.
  15. @tararobertson Today I discovered that LCSH has the heading Knitters (Persons). it makes me wonder what other variations there are.
  16. A wet day at the beach today, but still managed to get some good photos of the finished garden upgrade http://bit.ly/6YdVJT
  17. RT @michaelgeist: UK launches consult on copyright exceptions. Calls on EU for broad exception for non-commercial use. http://bit.ly/56pdMO
  18. Playing with Sugar Lab's OS on my netbook after creating a couple of SoaS (Sugar on a Stick) USBs. Might be fun for next year's IT course.
  19. @mstephens7 Thanks. I've been thinking about this for a while, and your blot post gave me a good opportunity to start talking about it. :-)
  20. @ncarman31 Congratulations! All of your hard work on the MLS has paid off.
