  10. There were about 30 Javelinas milling around in a leisurely fashion this morning. According to the NIST Omen Database, that's a good sign.

  14. the genome projects kicked biology into a more high-throughput mode, it seems like the modern web could do the same for the social sciences
  15. @nikete right- it's like biology was:a historically math-averse population, with minimal data and poor communication in methods development
  16. @nikete it is unfortunate that sociology lost its momentum in networks research, esp. since that became so important to the web
