Saw the 1st migrant of the Fall in our yard today - 2 Orchard Orioles. Large of hummingbirds should begin arriving next weekend.

Various fall (southbound) migrant are being reported on TEXBIRDS mailing list. It's amazing that fall migration begins so early.

cardinals were just making a strange chip note. Investigated & found they were watching a snake slithering in the bushes about 6 ft up.
