  1. NYC today is full of Santas combing the streets on what appears to be a pub crawl. Santas out there get it out of your system before Dec 24!
  2. Anyone out there get a nap in today on the first snowfall? I wish I did!
  3. Then tree lighting in town, dinner at home then holiday party at neighbor's. Crammed a whole lot in a day!
  4. Got the tree, met Santa, went for a carriage ride signing carols, put the tree up, Conor made first penance then Girl Scout mitten tree....

  9. The spear of death lives on! Stubborn piece of bark. Probably better that it didn't fall and drop the electrical wire or cable line onto me
  10. I was "sent" outside at my darling wife's suggestion to throw a football at it and knock it down. Piercey was 11 for 48. But....
  11. The Spear of Death is a by-product of the remnants of Ida. It is a 25 foot tree branch haning straight down over my driveway and my car
  12. The Tomb of The Unknown at Arlington is so powerful and moving. Makes you want to salute every single person who has ever served our country
  13. Lincoln, Vietnam and Jefferson Memorial then Arlington. All very moving for different reasons. Lincoln is a fave. The man saved our union.

  16. All of these innovations on display at Smithsonian make you believe that nothing is impossible.
  17. Toured the White House today. Amazing that the home of the leader of the Free World is open to the public. Now at Smithsonian Air and Space

  19. Just crashed after an amazing day in DC touring the Capitol on a private tour courtesy of Senator Lautenberg. Thanks very much Senator!
  20. Am I alone on this one, Nov is really way too late for the World Series. The crowds in Philly and NY both seem subdued and tired.
