  1. Open bar gave me three drinks when I asked for one. I hope they know what they're getting themselves into.
  2. Though I have no female genetalia to speak of, I have shaved with a women's razor. MLIA.
  3. Social pattern: person gives recommendation, you ask why, the reason is stupid so you ultimately ignore it, then they get mad.
  4. Evidence TV is educational: saw that scientists in southern France discovered a new enzyme. I had no idea there were scientists in France!
  5. I have a strong urge to go back in time and assassinate the person who invented checked exceptions. Am I a real Java programmer yet?
  6. Pathetic attempt to wrap something quasi-cylindrical. I hope my mom doesn't disown me. http://twitpic.com/v4eqe
  7. I hope my family knows that their presents are wrapped with love, because they certainly aren't wrapped with any significant skill.
  8. @cgoldberg Effective Java was a good refresher for me - also talks about stuff I missed in the interim.
  9. One day the pilot will say that we have *un*limited overhead space, and I will cry with joy, because it will be... the future!
  10. Apple user sitting by me in the terminal is blasting the volume on some shitty show. Note that headphones were invented in the early 1900s.
  11. Security through insecurity: make your hostname "honeypot" and set your password to "password." Doubt it would work.
  12. (I understand that one might take that as a challenge, but productivity is required in the interim, and my friends were unhelpful.)
  13. Too much beer to drink before I leave for the east coast. Alas, some of you will never have the joy of being converted to urine.
  14. @jtauber It's a small planet. ;-)
  15. @jtauber I don't get it - why would you subscribe to malicious feeds? You could pull its teeth too: just put a little "Dup!" label on dupes.
  16. @bitprophet Yeah, but for things like GReader, how hard could fingerprinting an entry be? They don't even try right now.
  17. @jtauber @bitprophet Which brings up the question -- why can't we associate a piece of content with a UUID so readers can just uniquify?
  18. @bitprophet Ah, I could see that. I fall into a weird circle where I have too many feeds to notice dupes. Stuff just falls off my radar. :-/
  19. @bitprophet RSS is poll driven, while, because of its real-time appeal, Twitter is an event notification. Plus, subscribers != followers.
  20. Moved resume data from a TeX file to Python code that gens it w/Jinja. Maybe I should use CouchDB as well... I may be underengineering.
