  1. The Dictator - Not as shocking or funny as I was expecting. Cohen should stick to the unscripted format he's employed 5.5/10
  2. Dark Shadows - Burton remakes Blast from the Past, this time with more vampires and a splash of Death becomes Her. Messy ending 6/10
  3. Moonrise Kingdom - The all-star cast is outshined by the two child leads in whom Wes has finally found his true voice - 8.5/10
  4. The Avengers-A deft weaving of multiple story lines, characters and plots with great set pieces and but it's the humor that makes it a 9/10
  5. The Cabin in the Woods - A very interesting premise with a lot of ingenuity but why the heck would they even have a purge button? - 7.75
  6. Shine - amazing music and incredible direction and performances but I really wish the particulars would have been better explained - 8.5/10
  7. The Way - Travel will open your eyes to the things around you and the things that have always been inside you - 8/10
  8. John Carter - Every bit as predictable, pedestrian, unfilmable and derivative as I thought it would be. Poor casting with Carter 5.5/10
  9. Silent House - Having the film as one long continuous shot adds thrills but if the reveal and ending are weak, the thrill is gone 6.5/10
  10. Timecrimes - An interesting foray into the time travel genre but it's hard to empathize with people who act so irrationally 5/10
  11. Act of Valor - A nice commercial for the Navy. Stellar camera work. Be all that you can be...except for a good actor. 5/10
  12. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - People were Extremely Patient and Incredibly Understanding with this often annoying little boy 6.25/10
  13. My Left Foot - Amazing performances by Day Lewis and O'Conor but I could have used subtitles from time to time - 8/10
  14. The Raid-A film that doesn't waste time with any character building foreplay and instead jumps right into major action & ultra-violence 9/10
  15. The Secret World of Arrietty-The land of The Littles is wonderful and imaginative but they should have stayed with the original title 6.5/10
  16. The Vow-McAdams falls in love, loses her memory and her beau has to remind her of their life together. This film was better with Gosling 5/10
  17. Dawn of the Dead(2004)-An enjoyable chapter of undead but the zombie baby was a little over the top. Great use of Richard Cheese. 7/10
  18. Sorcerer - There are moments of directorial brilliance pressed up against times where it was as if he'd never made a film before 6.5/10
  19. Chronicle - And the moral is: Be careful who you bully because they may just grow up to be telekinetic super villians. 7.5/10
  20. A Seperation - The grey areas between right and wrong where people have to make tough decitions. For skill 7/10. For how I felt after 3/10.
