  1. Switch off your #C64 for two minutes of silence - Giana Sisters developer Armin Gessert passed away yesterday. http://tr.im/EEFV (in German)
  2. Just bought the #C64 app. And I don't even own an #iPhone (or a Touch)... yet. Not risking @manomio having it yanked offline again, though.
  3. And here's the proper link for the #C64 for #iPhone app in your local App Store: http://tr.im/EDho ( also available in Denmark, @manomio )
  4. And… #C64 for #iPhone by @manomio is back on the US App Store as well. USD 4.99 @ http://tr.im/EDfI
  5. Guess the rumours were true: #C64 for #iPhone is starting to reappear in the App Store. First up, Canada. $4.99 @ http://tr.im/EDdg
  6. One #C64 cart to rule them all: 16 Mb REU, 1541 emulation via SD card, Retro Replay compatible freezer, VGA output + more. http://tr.im/EyDm
  7. Next version of @Manomio's #C64 for #iPhone will have in-app purchasing of additional games. I vote for Laser Squad!
  8. "Manomio's #C64 emulator returning to the #iPhone shortly" : http://tr.im/E8GT (via @PocketGamer @manomio)
  9. @escrec Which in turn makes Poke 20 violate the #CC license. Doesn't matter if it's based on the #C64 SID or a rendering on the spoons.
  10. @escrec So even if the #C64 Orchestra permit you to use their mechanical work, they can't permit you to use the intellectual work.
  11. @escrec Raise you another nuance: The base IP (i.e. Hubbards #C64 chiptune) doesn't come with a #CC compatible license.
  12. Obvious exception to the #C64 remix vs CC issue is a SID composer releasing his own work with a #CC license. In that case, remix away! :)
  13. @fasel Indeed. I've had to drop using clips from CC'ed podcasts on the Take-away since I can't honour the "Share Alike" part of the license.
  14. @c64glen Word is that Poke 20 were told that the #CC license is incompatible with the MCPS regulations. And then released it anyway.
  15. @fasel I've got no problems with derived works either. My beef is purely with releasing #C64 remixes under a #CC license.
  16. @fasel I've got no problems with derived works either. My beef is purely with releasing them under a #CC license.
  17. @fasel And that's why slapping a #CreativeCommons license on something derived from a non #CC work is a massive bowl of #fail
  18. @fasel I can't adapt your work without your permission, and allow others to adapt 'my' work. Because that right was never mine to give away.
  19. Poke 20 infosheet doesn't mention the original #C64 artists, yet they have no problem requiring #CC attribution themselves (via @Pete_Brown)
  20. I'm all for #CreativeCommons but you can't just slap a #CC license on a remix of a copyrighted work. Even if it's a 24 year old #C64 tune.
