  1. @AidanMcGlynn It does have a very pretty lake - and much more 60s concrete architecture than I remember in Rivendell.
  2. @crookedfootball Yep, CSMN is a pretty amazing place.
  3. Apparently there was a Rugby World Cup in 2008. nesn.com/.m/2012/04/pat…
  4. @fintelkai He does need to step away. Just going by appearance the job seems really bad for his health. Obama has aged less the past 4 years
  5. @kjhealy @crookedfootball Right; sometimes the absence of word limits on the web is a very bad thing
  6. @carriejenkins I find the further south one goes the more likeable it is; at least within limits. Hope NYU is fun!
  7. I've been mostly off the net today, and only just noticed the CT thread on coursera got to 60+ comments. Did not expect that.
  8. @PhilGeek I actually like that faculty can use coursera etc to help plan their courses. But that is a double edged sword, for this reason.
  9. @PhilGeek That's more of a worry. We have evidence that people will pay for teaching by non-tenured faculty.
  10. @PhilGeek I think our masters will still need us. No one will pay $200K for online course, so they need in person teaching.
  11. @crookedfootball There's a big hockey game Wednesday night, but don't think that should cause Tuesday hotel jams.
  12. @AidanMcGlynn Congrats. That department has been hiring really well - good to see it continue.
  13. @1e4c5 @carriejenkins Most formal e sessions I've seen have been better than 10% female. Say 20-30%. FEW is even better because it tries.
