  1. Looks like another beautiful but bike-less day. Everyone's at graduation parties; I got a FOUR-hour nap.
  2. Hanging w a bunch of Obama haters. Their biggest issue: lies. Could someone pls fact-verify all the lies Obama's telling?
  3. What I'd like to see in that spot? A bike shop and a hostel. Downtown has neither.
  4. The only question now is, How quickly can we identify the best use for the space, and renovate/replace the bldg to match that?
  5. The Smithfield Cafe building itself was 7/8 empty for years. That's a lot of useless space in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh.
  6. Smithfield Cafe closing? No love lost here. He fought 1986 city & 2006 county/state smoking restrictions & the drink tax.
  7. With storms passed eastward, the #raingauge showed 0.5" of rain.
  8. And as you saw, I avoided neither.
  9. Tweet I thought I sent at 16:55: If I left right now and go straight up Perrysville, I might beat the rain AND the traffic.
  10. 17:57 Doorknob, desk to doorknob, 57 miserable, drenched, stop-and-go minutes.
  11. Downtown's a mess. Didn't make Allegheny Ctr until 17:22.
  12. 17:06 At the m/c.
  13. 17:00 Desk,
  14. Pittsburgh radar shows the main storm front east of Downtown, just widespread rain behind it. Traffic will be a mess so I'll stay put.
  15. So, I'm gonna chill here, wait for traffic & skies to clear, & only then head home.
  16. Now I can't see very far east, either. Can barely make out Pitt's Cathedral of Learning.
  17. Standing on the top floor of the Frick Bldg and watching the western sky disappear. Raining hard here now.
  18. Yow, what a storm front! Ck the Pittsburgh radar: radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=…
  19. It poured rain this morning. That must mean THE THREE RIVERS ARTS FESTIVAL IS OPEN!!
  20. 6:56 parked. Soaked. Yeah, should've worn the rain gear.
