  1. @timbray We get a lot of "bus" vs "light rail" arguments in Seattle. Busses are good for less traveled routes, but distance/density? Suck.
  2. @brianbehlendorf My license strategy is simple, pick something that allows me to have the least amount of conversations about license :)
  3. What does it say about my day when out of a bazilliin songs my iPod first picks today "ballroom blitz" and then "Godzilla"? Go, go, Godzilla
  4. At seatac heading to SFO for #oscon.
  5. @jswanhart I am still trying to wrap my head around it. The simple cases I think are easy to do... expressing good syntax for the less so...
  6. BlitzDB vs MySQL/MyISAM Insert performane (BlitzDB makes use of the Drizzle micro kernel) http://is.gd/1CjT9
  7. The quote in the last twitter comment was nice to wake up and see :)
  8. "gives MySQL a chance via Drizzle of remaining relevant" Comment from Mark Callaghan on Drizzle's new replication system. http://is.gd/1CjNu
  9. Reasons to not sign over copyright -> "those who control a software project from those who merely contribute to it" http://is.gd/1BvAz
  10. Gearman Java driver released http://is.gd/1BtAo
  11. Which reminds me, I hate license arguments. Why do I use the BSD most of the time? Because I hate having to explain "License Twister".
  12. @timoreilly There is an argument that cloud vendors who use GPL "distribute" when they use the cloud and therefor... lots of arguments left.
  13. My dog knows how to open the backdoor with her teeth, unless it is 5AM. At 5AM forgets this handy skill and requires me to take her out.
  14. @cloudbzz A "do not". Don't offer to give code only under the condition that the project has to sign something (or better, ask for NDAs).
  15. @cloudbzz A "do not". Don't show up with a patch, that you never mentioned you were doing, which changes 50% of the code. Fail.
  16. @cloudbzz Some companies have great open source manners, some do not. Of the "do not", often it is a matter of explaining how to interact.
  17. Some companies lack "open source table manners". Often they don't know what is expected. Like my cat bringing dead mice to the dinner table.
  18. Repeat, there is no magic "atomic operation" for reading memory. You will probably get lucky, but it is just luck.
  19. List of Drizzle, Gearman talks at OSCON http://is.gd/1B8a9
  20. Found this HOWTO last night when I was needing to build on Ubuntu (I mainly use Fedora/OSX) "Compiling Drizzle on Ubuntu" http://is.gd/1B7a1
