  2. Some say, "never do Roth conversion if you need Roth $$ to pay the tax". This is a MYTH. Run the numbers. It still may pay.

  4. No req min dist in '09 also applies to beneficiaries of inherited accts. BUT if bene receives distribution, it cannot be returned.
  5. No required minimum distributions in 2009. If on auto withdrawal, cancel it. If receive distribution, return it within 60 days.
  6. Estate planning & wills: do it right. You don't want your heirs to remember you by the problems you left behind.
  7. There is no 'financial hardship' exception to early withdrawal penalty. Many have tried, all have failed.
