  1. Yuck. Who thought making transient-mark-mode the default in Emacs 23.1 was a good idea?
  2. Can someone explain why things like DNS control panels for major sites don't require two-factor? (re http://is.gd/5tdDN)
  3. Looking forward to CES 2010 in just a few short weeks!
  4. Hard resetting my G1 cleared up the huge lag and hopefully also the spontaneous reboots. It's too much like a computer...
  5. Android has an app piracy problem. Most popular paid apps have reviews offering pirated copies via download or email.
  6. @rmogull How can you quantify on a platform that's a smart guy with a grudge away from virus problems? It can go from 0 to bad very quickly.
  7. @rmogull Nope. Bourne & C shell will still be around twenty years from now, which means we'll still be suffering scripts that mangle spaces.
  8. Chrome shows @OmniWeb how it's done. @OmniGroup, please add this feature! http://twitpic.com/s18l4
  9. @gnomon Sorry, but most small devices won't get 5GHz. Nobody wants to spare the extra cost and PCB space for little perceived benefit.
  10. @KevinCTofel I did now! Thanks for the tip; I've been looking for a good deal on a HD cam for a little while now.
  11. Spent some time today in a RF anechoic chamber. It's like the world's best tinfoil hat.
  12. @mikeash I'm going to bet on "never".
  13. VZW to follow the Droid Fnord (which Engadget confusingly just calls the Droid) with the Droid Eris? http://bit.ly/Fwzj9
  14. Lots of Wave tweets this week. Did another batch of invites go out? For anyone who's interested, I'm on as bmastenbrook at googlewave.com.
  15. Windows 7 launch picture of the day: http://bit.ly/3Sbnxh
  16. @KevinCTofel Probably the same place that WinMo's mass-market relevance went (ouch!) ;-)
  17. @KevinCTofel According to Giz, a WinMo app is in development, but what about Android? http://bit.ly/2vYLUm
  18. B&N Nook reader is awesome. Android-based, WiFi, direct PDF reading, multi-touch color display. http://bit.ly/2tnHG6
  19. Booked to attend the 2010 @intlCES show! #CES
  20. @rudis It parses, but it's semantically invalid. You need at least two additional sequence points there.
