  1. @bleything You never attend Ruby conferences anymore.
  2. I'm learning to appreciate TDD and relying on tests to stop me from being stupid more and more each day.
  3. Pro-tip: If it hurts putting sun screen on, its too late. Go indoors.
  4. @jakemallory Thanks for the "Building and Managing a Ruby Infrastructure" video link. Watching now. http://bit.ly/lBfv9
  5. @jeremydmiller I've seen it and I think its awesome! http://tinyurl.com/arxtavideo I even have the sticker! http://twitpic.com/7jqq6
  6. Monkey patching production for fun and profit.
  7. @coreyhaines @craigwebster Yeah, I'm most interested in building a REST service layer and sharing a plugin/gem that calls the services.
  8. @hasmanyjosh Hah! We just freed ourselves from svn:externals and moved to git, but now we have to replace that functionality.
  9. What is the best way to share business logic across multiple Rails sites? ActiveResource? Shared plugin of the models? SVN:Externals? Other?
  10. I'm up on a new HDD. Now I get to reinstall all my apps for the next three days. And hunt for the license keys. Yay.
  11. Sometimes you need to fail before you succeed. Actually, most of the time.
  12. @RonJeffries It can't be considered "hero worship" if you aren't a "hero".
  13. @RonJeffries The captions are correct. :) You should watch the video for the context. http://bit.ly/18TAyQ
  14. I have to admit I am sorely tempted to bid on getting two hours of @KentBeck's time for pair programming. http://is.gd/1j3cW
  15. @jmbrink26 My failed drive was 250 or 320 GB. I just got it ~6 months ago.
  16. @jmbrink26 Yeah, it was the hard drive. I blame the boy for knocking it over as he crawled past it. I'll have to bill him when he get a job.
  17. And now my MBP's WD Scorpio Black HDD is totally gone. (Glad I backed up with @mozy!) Anyone recommend a *good* replacement drive?
  18. Aaahhhhhh... My MacBook Pro no longer boots. I get a folder with a "?" on it. The disk verifies though. Gonna have to reinstall I guess.
  19. Finished the Agile Coaching book today. Lots of good advice. Really helpful as I've started introducing agile at work. Recommended.
  20. @joefiorini Calling layout in a Rails controller violates SRP, but so does the respond_to block. Is that bad? Convention over configuration?
