  1. Taught Spirit of Storytelling Workshop today. Learned something profound about storytelling.
  2. Gearing up for Spirit of Storytelling workshop on November 22nd as a benefit for Elizabeth Lyon.
  3. Did a presentation and an advanced characterization workshop in Medford. Learned something new.
  4. Teaching a workshop in Medford this weekend where I plan to teach characterization and something I call the spirit of storytelling.
  5. Teaching Dramatic Truth workshop in Medford on Saturday. Just read Sweetheart by C Cain. Strong characters, clearly defined, strong plot.
  6. @mizd It had some great moments (Olivia thru the windshield, the guy with the typewriter), but also flat moments. Expected better.
  7. Finished a ten minute play tonight in one day. Great set up. I'm in that I'm King of the World phase. Many moons since I wrote an afterlife.
  8. The idea that people who write by 'remembering/re-experiencing' story events are calling up details stripped of emotion.
  9. Consider new study that shows emotions are stripped from memories going to long term storage in brain. Perhaps a cue to emotionless writing

  12. Taught dramatic truth workshop at WW conference. What does main character want? Minor characters often more vibrant because more defined.

  14. I teach a sentence is a step. Struggling writers keep going when a step is done. Muffles impact. People also qualifying the inconsequential
  15. Helped WW volunteer get manuscript up to speed, nice flow to opening chapters. I prefer the subtle editing to reading pages & general advice

  20. Notes on writing. Dramatic Truth, what a character wants. Can be framed as question, seeks healing, renewal, etc. Defines character.
