  1. Adding "Death and the Lit Chick" by Mallett to my to-read list.
  2. Eschewed the latest pink carnation book for Hewson's Dante's Numbers. Hope it is gory!
  3. Can't wait to start reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies this weekend! #ppz
  4. Currently reading Deborah Tannen's You're Wearing That? I hope to glean some understanding of my relationship with my mother.
  5. Yep, The Spare Wife was pretty worthless and shallow. Are all books set in NYC society shallow?
  6. Now reading The Spare Wife. Another novel about NYC high society. Underwhelmed so far.
  7. Reading the fascinating, absorbing Self-Made Man by Norah Vincent.
  8. Almost finished with Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers. Pretty good, but I'd like more.
  9. Finished Barry's "The Lace Reader". It didn't end like I expected, but I wasn't blown away. Ok read that felt like a first novel.
  10. Now reading "The Lace Reader" by Brunonia Berry. I'm not impressed so far. It seems to be trying a little too hard and is a little cliched.
  11. Just finished "The Other Queen" by Philippa Gregory. It was ok-a bit tedious compared to "The Other Boleyn Girl".
  12. Now reading "The Battle for Christmas" by Stephen Nissenbaum about the real origins of the holiday.
  13. Now reading "In Secret Service" by Mitch Silver. It is a thriller about Ian Fleming and the duke and duchess of Windsor and treason in ww2
  14. Just started science fiction book "Marrow" about an ancient starship. I am unsure if I will continue it, but I'll give it a little longer
  15. Finished the mediocre "thriller" Left For Dead. Long book with confusing, muddled ending.
  16. School is almost out; leisure reading coming soon!
  17. 59 books for $32. Not bad! Now to find time to read them all.
  18. Counting down to the Wake County Public Library booksale. It started today but I always go on Saturday.
  19. Just started "Royal Affairs" by Leslie Carroll...a look at 1000 years of infidelity in the British monarchy. It's a little dry so far.
  20. Finished Mistress of the Sun about one of Louis XIV's mistresses (he had many). Pretty engrossing historical fiction.
