  1. @pkelso Paul, I hope you're not caught up in this Betfair investigation into odd betting patterns ahead of Giggs' surprise victory.
  2. Sad to hear Berlusconi was hit by a model of Milan cathedral. Sad, that is, that it wasn't a model of the Vatican.
  3. Listening to live relay of Puccini's Gianni Schicchi from the Met. No part for Cheryl Cole, sadly. Here's the famous bit http://bit.ly/3xepE
  4. @kmflett As, of course, does God.
  5. Not to mention belief in an all-powerful (but strangely-absent-when-the-chips-are-down) deity.
  6. Rowan Williams says govt treat clergy as oddballs. Might be something to do with the robes, pointy hats and obsession with sex.
  7. As for the celeb audience and their expensive tickets: they must be a pretty sick bunch. And is Germany supposed to be a civilised country?
  8. Surely this man is not a tiger 'trainer" but a tiger abuser: my sympathies are entirely with the tigers http://bit.ly/4x14uv
  9. Out all day, so missed the PBR. Oh well, there's always next year.
  10. The Creation at the Festival Hall. The OAE made it, and it was good. Ridiculous amount of Tube noise, tho. Time to knock the RFH down.
  11. Big mistake to tweet chess moves - followers leaving in droves. Need a populist move to win them back.
  12. @JimVinFalz V polite, tho doesn't say much. Probably offended at having to play me. I liked the 'you play like a Norwegian' line.
  13. That should lose me a few followers ...

  16. Here are moves in Moss v Carlsen: 1 e4 c5 2 Nf3 e6 3 c3 Nf6 4 e5 Nd5 5 d4 cxd4 6 cxd4 d6 7 Bb5+ Bd7 8 Bxd7+ Qxd7 9 0-0 Nc6 10 Nc3 Nxc3...
  17. It has just been pointed out to me that there was a moment in my game against Carlsen when, had I played a different move, I might have won!
  18. Also played chess for Kingston 2 against Crystal Palace 3 tonight and won brilliantly. I attribute it to having touched the hand of Carlsen.
  19. I don't think G2 could bring themselves to show the actual moves, so if there's big popular demand I'll tweet them – for posterity.
  20. Played chess v world No 1 Magnus Carlsen today ahead of tomorrow's London Chess Classic at Olympia. Result in G2 tomorrow.
