  1. Leftover mashed potatoes+carrots+parsnip combined with halloumi. At home: "it needed eating up". In restaurant: "fusion cooking".
  2. I take it that sun.com's "we have recommended offers" pop-up is written by people that'd prefer us to quit using sun?
  3. banxafe makes it less likely that your card can be used fraudulently on-line. By making it impossible to use it at all.
  4. The Muppets figured out the Internets: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
  5. In the "glass half full" category: this humidity level makes my reeds happy.
  6. @darrenmoffat I assume that with AUTH_SYS the first 16 are taken into account; remainder ignored?
  7. @bubbva 20pack of chai tea here = price of 50pack in the UK (and now I've switched to rooibos chai which isn't available here anyway)
  8. @bubbva: bell peppers: we may be lucky with beer & chocolate but you've got lots of daylight:example: ISBN 9781603580816 winter-veg in Maine
  9. @bubbva and we're not that spoiled here... I tend to stock up on tea(-like drinks) when I'm in the UK.
  10. @bubbva: amazon knows tick tock ("currently not available") & more, including bulk pure rooibos (e.g. Davidson's) and classic make Twinings
  11. @bubbva I like Dragonfly/Tick Tock's rooibos offerings. Tetley's ok but a bit weak. No idea about others. Amazon has a fair # for sale.
  12. On the other hand: going to uni library to read the paper edition is a ~500km drive one way, so many pdfs still beat the alternative.
  13. Online journal edition: no abstracts/article and no option to get a whole journal in pdf; one at a time only. Somewhat inconvenient.
  14. Worth reading: http://www.antipope.org/cha... (on UK's new "Digital Economy Bill").
  15. Last caturday's traffic stop: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
  16. Yay: Firefox doesn't use up as much memory b/c of memory leaks anymore. Less yay: because it crashes regularly.
  17. Any recommendations for good books on (digital) forensics? Overview/state of things/academic rather than how-to-guides for products.
  18. @alecmuffett "Security & Engineering"
  19. OpenOffice.org 2nd startup after update; 2nd time it keeps waiting for me to answer some inane question instead of opening the doc. Fail.
  20. Finished http://tinyurl.com/yc9wj3w. I don't seem to be its intended audience (having read on crypto before). But a nice refresher/overview.
