  1. @kiwihaley yeah, I work in Denver and I'm in the process of trying to move there. I'll definitely have to check out Tracks.
  2. @kiwihaley never heard of Tracks, but that's fairly close to where I work. I'll have to check it out sometime.
  3. @kiwihaley goth night where? Shelter in Denver is pretty cool
  4. Not saying Google made a bad decision with basing SPDY on TCP, and they give their rationale against SCTP.. another case of worse is better
  5. My corollary to Greenspun's 10th Rule: any sufficiently complex TCP-based protocol contains an ad hoc reimplementation of half of SCTP
  6. While HTTP/1.1 reinvented aspects of SCTP, Google has taken it to the next level with SPDY: http://bit.ly/1lv7iW
  7. @atmos is your Braintree card vault stuff usable outside of Merb? Would like it as Rack middleware. Does ActiveMerchant support it?
  8. Got the last of our company's gems working on JRuby. Tommorrow begins direct integration with a J2EE app. JRuby is neat stuff.
  9. @kiwihaley so you're a pescetarian then. Why give up sushi? ;)
  10. @slava_pestov I don't think anyone's pretending otherwise... they have more bugs
  11. @kiwihaley I'd be a pescetarian if I had a little more self-control
  12. @cdma Ruby's "Numeric" types are immutable, therefore there's no way to increment/decrement in-place
  13. Who would've thought that adding a left-associative "++" in-place incrementation operator to Ruby would be such a contentious issue?
  14. tmbg w00t! http://yfrog.com/j7tw7xj
  15. @kiwihaley do you use Twitter for anything other than food? :)
  16. also, C & C == MUSIC FACTORY
  17. @johnbender heh, point being that the value of c after postincrementation is c (also C++ is not a proper superset of C)
  18. just realized for the first time that c == c++
  19. does a rubygem exist which abstracts pubsub and presence across various message queues?
  20. Windows 7 with a Snow Leopard guest VM is truly the best of both worlds
