  1. I just saw a girl wearing leggings painted to look like blue jeans, as if that made them pants.
  2. I just discovered southernfood.about.com. This will end deliciously.
  3. 40 degrees, raining and windy? Uh, no thanks, October.
  4. @madcaptenor I do now, but only because I looked it up. I suppose I should have, b/c it's Greek, but it doesn't come up a lot in classics.
  5. Least helpful French-English dictionary entry ever: stochastique = stochastic. Couldn't have figured that one out on my own!
  6. @bradfordneal Setaioli agrees with us (and T-Rex). "Eh bien!" he remarks three pages into the article.
  7. Today is a great day I think for the reading of French articles. Tres bien!
  8. Spent the weekend battling a cold (and winning!). But now I've exhausted all my internet possibilities. What to do?
  9. Man, how is there a giant crowd of people having a party outside my window in the rain? It's 11:30 on a Saturday night, people. GO TO BED!
  10. The farmer's market informed me that today is Johnny Appleseed's birthday. So I will eat an apple for lunch in his honor.
  11. Arthur and I are planning to bring the word fustianist back into style. It's an apt description of many academics.
  12. It's a good thing their Latin names prevailed.
  13. The Greek names for the planets sucked: Saturn=shining, Jupiter=blazing, Mars=fiery, Mercury=gleaming, and Venus=light-bringing.
  14. There are two squirrels going through a mating dance on the back deck! It's fascinating.
  15. The smell of grilling and the music blasting from the block party outside has impeded my progress today. Dissertating takes no holidays!
  16. We were having such a good time at a bbq last night that we skipped Quizzo for the first time ever. I wonder how they handled our absence.
  17. Spent 2 hours on the deck reading Pease's intro to the De Natura Deorum & now my left side is sunburned. I doubt that's what he had in mind.
  18. I am enjoying this cooler weather. The return of undergrads? Not so much.
  19. I wonder why writing the tail end of this chapter is harder than all the rest of the work combined.
  20. Seriously you guys, let's get #seriouslyyouguys going. Our innocence isn't going to proclaim itself!
