  1. @theonetruebix Li'l Herman's never spooked anyone in his life. We think Herman must be spooked himself and probably burrowing somewhere.
  2. @StephStricklen Lauren has/had a classroom turtle. Herman comes home for the summer. Now he's on the run.
  3. @craigers19 Exactly! That's why it's so mysterious. We don't think he'd try to cross Cornell. He's probably digging a hole close by.
  4. @PDXsays We've got a shallow pond in the backyard that he loves. Hopefully he'll want to take a swim when it gets warm.
  5. ChromeOS: An insidious threat to your freedom! http://bit.ly/3ZSylM Um... if you don't like it, don't use it. It's a f&^(ing window manager.
  6. Still no sign of the wayward turtle. We're going to try lettuce bait in the morning. #wheresherman
  7. @Lelonopo I'm in full support of Fall Down Fridays.
  8. @noahsam Back to XP for you!
  9. @TSABlogTeam Could the TSA weigh in on whether knife-less multitools (specifically this one: http://bit.ly/V7VW1) are OK for carry-on?
  10. @kenkeiter That GAE explainer was refreshing. I suppose you have to be transparent if you're building an OS built around cloud availability.
  11. @sdague I suppose that's the big question mark. Chrome as WM/app launcher makes sense, if you could run other local apps within Chrome.
  12. @sdague Well, Android broke binary compatibility. If ChromeOS could run legacy Gnome/KDE apps, that would push adoption.
  13. @CorvusE Yeah, the new WM is the really exciting part--Gnome/Xorg is kludgy and the visual design is stuck in 1995.
  14. Someone correct me if I'm wrong: Chrome OS is not a "new" operating system so much as a new web-centric Linux distro, yes? #badreporting
  15. Just for the record, I called this months ago when Chrome was first announced. Chrome as WM makes sense. http://bit.ly/33ic7Z
  16. At Miss Delta for birthday hushpuppies and catfish. #frieddoughrocksmyworld #fb
  17. Thanks for all the b-day wishes! I decided Denny's was too far--I can spring for my own breakfast. :-)
  18. Wonders if there's anywhere in Portland that gives you free breakfast on your birthday. Maybe I can have a totally freeloading day.
  19. R.I.P. Compuserve. You'll be missed, remaining users 3912,1023 and 8573,2145. http://bit.ly/19EJ7E
  20. Irony: I'm a Sprint customer, but for my needs, the monthly cost of a Pre plan would be more than an iPhone or G1 plan.
