  9. Did Apple's removal tool actually work? Or maybe the malware changed the DGA? In any case, Flashback infection numbers dropped 90%!
  10. Great article by Pierre-Marc of ESET about UUIDs and Flashback botnet size is.gd/JyABcN

  13. @briankrebs Apple are acting like Microsoft did 10 years ago (and to some extent still does..).
  14. @b_sharov @hexminer yes, but having an online checker with false positives is a bit problematic, don't you think?
  15. @Schouw @Jindroush There are many cases of same UUID, different variant version (sv), and different IP addresses over a short period of time
  16. @Schouw still working on that. Basically, there are UUIDs which are shared amongst different machines with similar HW (mostly Intel based).
  17. Counting unique UUIDs is not enough! The real number of #Flashback infected OSX machines is more than mentioned. Our estimation is 900K+
  18. @dguido Why do you think a malware downloader is useless? PPI services can be used for targeted attacks as well...
  19. @gollmann I liked your Dubai example. This is indeed the case for most "real" APTs. They are hidden behind proxy/botnet/htran/etc.
