  1. Leaving Wadi Musa today, on the way to Aqaba and (hopefully) a swim in the Red Sea. On the way will be beautiful desert & untold mysteries.
  2. Petra was fabulous, one of the great experiences of my life. But, for now, my feet hurt from all the walking and climbing.

  4. After a wonderful night of sleep and an easy morning, Bojana and I are off to explore Petra - hidden city of red stone. Tomorrow, Aqaba.
  5. Just got to Wadi Musa in Jordan where Petra, the red city of stone is. Some relaxation and then exploring tomorrow. No practice debate. :)
  6. At Erbil, Iraq airport, maximum security & no communication. Stuck in waiting zone with no coffee, Bojana desperate for java.

  9. Governorate of Duhok just announced establishment of Middle East Debate Academy in Duhok, Iraq. A total surprise to me.

  11. In Iraq tournament going well, students improving quickly, finals coming up, Mesopotamia Championship on the line.

  15. I am in Iraq, all is well, very hospitable. The workshop begins tomorrow and now we have 100+ students. Not sure how we will handle it.
  16. In Iraq now, all is well, super VIP treatment at airport, a liitle sleep and now on to Duhok. Bojana still stuck in Amman.

  19. Tonight I pack and plan. Tomorrow I begin my journey to Iraq to teach debating. It will be an adventure I will never forget.
  20. Heavy snow in Vermont, most grading done, last class today, heavy work to end year plus prep for Iraq-Jordan-Turkey-Slovenia trip. Yowza!
