  1. @dcagle Terror has nothing to do with Islam. That's why Muslims like me would feel offended by the way 'Allah Akbar' is used in the cartoon.
  2. @ArpanaKAhuja Perhaps, though I'd argue that newspapers are more circumspect.
  3. It's scary how TV seems to magnify every story -- good or bad -- thereby completely altering our perception of its importance.
  4. @priyankarocks Yeah, they do. I recognise that they are important, but they also annoy me.
  5. @priyankarocks What some of us really need is the courage to give up our phones. Most of what we do with them is pretty pointless anyway :-)
  6. @priyankarocks Hmmm... So what we have is not much of a choice -- put up with your lousy service or opt for another equally lousy operator.
  7. @priyankarocks Interesting question. The problems that would make you opt for it exist across networks. So what's the benefit?
  8. Can't shake off that surreal feeling. Was in the heritage wing of the Taj last night. The 26/11 anniv is on Thursday.
  9. @ the Taj. In the heritage wing. Just days before the 26/11 anniv. Surreal
  10. @jazzypaksongs Hi, following you now. Thanks for the links.
  11. Saw the video of 'In Your Eyes' again. It's a brilliant collaboration between Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Peter Gabriel. It's on YouTube.
  12. Sunday plan: Parents coming home in the morning, then driving across the city to attend a wedding, and finally a qawwali performance.
  13. @nishitiwari Everything. 140 characters isn't enough.
  14. Missing Pune. Happens often nowadays. We spent a wonderful year there (Sept 2004-Oct 2005).
  15. Reading a biography of Peter The Great. Huge, 900-page tome. Wonder how long I'll take to finish it.
  16. Had an interesting chat with someone who's part of a consultancy in the social development space.
  17. Saw a video of Pranav Mistry's talk @ TEDxMysore. B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T.
  18. Wonder what permanent effect the downturn will have on newspapers. Are smaller newsrooms, fewer pages here to stay?
  19. Daughter performing at the school annual day function. She's playing Snow White.
  20. @Poynter We forget one crucial thing: apart from rising costs and falling readership, there's also a great dearth of talent.
