  1. Re: Hansel - best part was when the doors opened and the big chefs came through, a little kid near us screams 'the spaceship is coming!'
  2. Saw Hansel & Gretel at the Met on Monday... good singing, but half-heartedly delivered in an already weird production. An OK afternoon.
  3. Seeing The Brother/Sister Plays at the Public, just in the nick of time.
  4. Fantastic Mr. Fox was a great diversion. Very clever and funny.
  5. At my first full length Messiah... loving this performance! (ny phil)
  6. Ashley Bouder is fantastic as Dewdrop in NYCB's Nutcracker... sprightly and musical, airy jumps, breathtaking speed.
  7. Suor Angelica was deeply moving... rich performances from Racette and Blythe.
  8. Thud, rumble, holler... the intermission scene change is quite noisy at Trittico! The sets are huge in this production.
  9. Off to the Met today for Il Trittico with Patricia Racette and Stephanie Blythe doing all three operas. Excited!
  10. A thought- casting Zeta-Jones in Night Music may have afforded the luxury of casting other parts brilliantly with lesser known theater folk?
  11. CZ Jones in Little Night Music will draw 'em in but it's the solid supporting cast that makes the evening great. And Sondheim of course.
  12. Strong production of Streetcar at BAM, enjoyed seeing Cate Blanchett and the very strong cast flex their acting muscles.
  13. Celebrity day: Cate Blanchett in Streetcar at BAM and Catherine Zeta Jones in Little Night Music on Broadway.
  14. Wowed by Fela.
  15. Balanchine's Nutcracker (at New York City Ballet) is still the best Nut around, imo! Saw Fairchild & Mearns today. http://twitpic.com/rhnpa
  16. The Family Circle at the Metropolitan Opera was stiflingly warm tonight. But Le Nozze di Figaro was decently amusing and well sung.
  17. Saw Dreamgirls today - so much fun! Very well staged and with overall great talent. http://twitpic.com/r8ags
  18. Memphis on B'way... far from perfect but an amusing way to pass a Sunday afternoon. Certainly a value at the student rush price we paid.
  19. La Danse was great - fly on the wall at one of the most amazing dance institutions in the world... I want to go to Paris and see them live!
  20. Re: Ragtime - ...music was nice to hear again though, liked Christiane Noll as Mother.
