  5. Last week was our FIRST EVER successful hummingbird release. Pat on back. As you can imagine, the bugger was too fast to capture on camera.
  6. Last week we admitted a Blue Bird, a Yellow Warbler and 44 rabbits! One of the baby bunnies was only a day old and is doing well so far.
  7. Bucky the screech owl & staff member Tammy were on KDKA-TV today to promote Earth Day at the Frick!
  8. Visit us at the Frick Environmental Center Earth Day celebration 4/18, 11am-4pm. Meet Fluffy the barred owl and Martha the great horned owl!
  9. And wow, baby squirrels and bunnies just keep coming in. The Baby Shower happened just in time....
  10. A big thank you to all our friends who came out for the Baby Shower! The event was fun and a success.

  13. Also, don't forget about the Baby Shower this Sunday from noon to 4 at the wildlife center.
  14. Spring has arrived! 5 animals were admitted for care including several infant rabbits, squirrels and a nestling Great Horned Owl.
  15. We are looking for a good home for a Canadian Goose and a domestic Mallard. Any leads?
  16. We are planning a new campaign this year: donation cans. Does anyone know what stores will let us put out donation cans on their counters?
  17. We admitted four animals today, including a cute little guinea fowl!
  18. We are now treating a goose that has been impaled with a fishing lure in its leg and body, under its wing.
  19. Violet the potbellied pig found a home! A family in Rhode Island has adopted her. She wants to thank everyone for caring for her!
  20. Only 2 animals were admitted for care, 1 sharp-shinned Hawk and 1 red-tailed Hawk.
