  1. RT @artdesignguide LA art museum relaunches after recession-era rescue http://bit.ly/3XopkB
  2. Home again. It was strange to return after being away for an entire month--and it's kind of strange to hear English spoken all around me.
  3. Man, that last tweet made me sound REALLY boring.
  4. There will be a gigantic pile of work waiting for me at home, not to mention the unpacking and house cleaning. Sigh.
  5. Going back to Vinoteca Barbacheri across the street from hotel for a light dinner. Tomorrow's our last day in Madrid; we fly home Wednesday.
  6. I had to take another number & wait my turn again, but then I got a different, much nicer clerk. So there.
  7. Today someone cut in front of me in a line where I'd had to take a number. When I went up afterward, clerk refused to serve me. BAD KARMA!
  8. @tea_austen I always wonder that. I understand the "salsa kit in a box" they sell (tomatoes, chili, onion) but chopping takes seconds.
  9. On this trip we have heard the 70s song "All By Myself" no fewer than 4 times. Two of those times were today in Toledo (Spain).
  10. @PotatoFilm Eww gross!! HA.
  11. Tomorrow: Toledo. More great architecture & home to over 30 El Greco paintings. Did I mention this is also an art pilgrimage?
  12. Segovia = fantastic. Gorgeous paved nature trail, out-of-this-world lunch (plus dessert), flamboyant Gothic cathedral, & only a little rain.
  13. @fatgator Now what would really have been funny would've been a Spanish-language cover version.
  14. Put up a new blog post with random travel observations at http://aquafortis.blogspot.com including why a "Ferreteria" does not sell ferrets.
  15. Since being in Spain, we've heard an oddly large amount of 80s music, including Hall & Oates' "Man-Eater" and "Private Eyes."
  16. Today we had a rather sedate day in Seville, and tomorrow we take another day trip, this time to Cordoba. Another early morning...sigh.
  17. This internet connection is slow and signal strength is "very low." Grr. But I refuse to go down to the lobby to rectify the issue.
  18. @RobinBrande All of our vacations and trips somehow end up revolving around food...we even take photos of food.
  19. I never knew that cold white garlic soup with melon chunks floating in it could be so GOOD, especially with a beer, after an arduous hike.
  20. Yay for @cybils plug by School Library Journal, and congrats to kidlit blogs mentioned: http://tinyurl.com/yewcyqe (via @alicepope)
