  4. Verizon's raising its smartphone ETF from $175 to $350. Glad this phone's with Sprint, whose service is cheaper IIRC anyway...

  7. Hmm, had to reinstall 9.10 to fix some broken package install I couldn't fix (or just didn't see an obvious fix for); all's working now

  13. If anyone's wondering, I like to have a copy of the CD on hand just in case (plus always do a fresh install vs. just upgrading).
  14. Ubuntu 9.10 ("Karmic Koala") is released today! Downloading the CD now (64-bit edition, via bittorrent)...
  15. The end of the first work day w/the Pre, and it's worked out well---managed to get caught up on a lot of my usual web stuff.

  17. I'm now the proud owner of a palm pre! We'll see how it holds up...
  18. Also couldn't figure out why music on the Hero kept playing, even after several trips into the music player...
  19. "Crash" as in "apps not launching, but spitting up an error message instead".
  20. Looked at the Palm Pre and HTC Hero today; the Pre was nice and had an intuitive OS. The Hero crashed on several apps and was harder to use
