  1. I'm officially burned out on managing three Twitter versions of myself. From now on you'll find me all in one place @joeyrobertparks :)
  2. For the next hour, I'm going to increase the range of my narrator's unique vocabulary language by writing a one-page letter to a character.
  3. Peering into a major character's relationship with his father. Until just now, I didn't feel the need. A sentence or two will be enough.
  4. I'm working on my novel. An answer to the question "What does x character fear?" eludes me. The answer is difficult, but necessary.
  5. Conceiving human traits of "fear" and "obstacles" for an inanimate object is a challenge. Good thing my "object" is based on a real person.
  6. More novel work. In a few minutes, I'll chart the fears and obstacles preventing two characters from reaching their long-term goals.
  7. I've uncovered my favorite narrative POV for my current work and it only took two years! It's a strong character; wise, confident, elusive.
  8. I'm on page 70 of my novel's first draft. I've already decided the three pages I wrote yesterday will be the first three pages of draft 2.
  9. I just finished documenting a major and secondary character's short and long-term goals. Time enjoy some music on the way home for lunch.
  10. Will this novel-in-progress always be so? Something must change. Something internal. A switch inside must flip one more notch. Here goes...
  11. Following up last week's productivity by diving farther into the deep end of the novel's strongest secondary character, Atlas.
  12. I'm doing a character study on one of the sub-books in my novel. I'm not writing meta-fiction, though it has similar overtones.
  13. Made good headway on the novel today. Looking forward to a meeting in the morning with an author friend about our books-in-progress.
  14. An author friend who attended Michael Stackpole's book writing seminar last week is eager to share what he learned; as am I to hear it.
  15. I pick up on page 63 today and more forward every day, m-f. No more planning and structuring. The editor takes a break. The writer writes...
  16. No novel writing this week. Taking a break before the big push to the end of the first draft. I'll hit the ground running this next week.
  17. Though I'd like to work on my novel right now, I'm going to take a week off to gear up for the big push to the end of draft one.
  18. Finishing the dinner dishes so I can get out of the house. I had a break through last night and am eager to put it into motion in words.
  19. Friday at 3:30pm. Guests coming for dinner at 6:30. I'm completing a book-writing proposal for a client. No time to write fiction today. :(
  20. I completed the most satisfying summary of the beginning, middle and end this morning. Next up? Back to page 68 of the draft in progress.
