  1. Finally met our neighbour on the right hand side, but I didn't catch her name! I am terrible!
  2. I locked myself out! Fortunately @jsrnz should be home in an hour or so, and my phone can see our wireless network from the deck...
  3. Tiny niece is a little better, where better means still in the ICU but probably not brain damaged after all. Man. Rough times.
  4. Scary courtesy car has the indicators on the wrong side. I windscreen-wipered at EVERY intersection on the way home.
  5. @_hillary Ha ha, my pitiful attempts at macarons ended the day I found good ones for sale locally - I'm really not much of a baker.
  6. @fishie My stomach turned a little thinking about how sweet that would be - so good idea!
  7. I had to put the ganache into the freezer to stop myself eating it with a spoon. I'll figure out some use for it this weekend. Cake filling?
  8. Thanks to Christmas-baking-fail I have about a litre of chocolate ganache in the fridge. Hmmm.
  9. @BamBamCreative Yes, that one. All done now, fingers crossed...
  10. I was allowed to come home after drinking the syrup, since the lab is just around the corner. All that sugar is making the baby WIG OUT.
  11. Eggs for breakfast and no-sugar coffee, should be good to go in an hour or so. I hope my Labtests experience is better than the rumours!
  12. Why does my cat smell like maple syrup?
  13. All the little Etsy orders I made with goodies for my nieces are rolling in. It's so much fun opening them, even though they're not for me!
  14. @johubris The secret to neat gift wrapping, I find, is double-sided tape.
  15. @_amber Looks like those are both coming up this afternoon - I'd be refreshing madly for Tokyo if not for the baby situation! Good luck!
  16. @Aethylred I've been doing some reading and I'm quite skeptical about the whole thing, so I'll definitely insist on a retest if necessary!
  17. @kimmyxoxo I think I'll just wait until tomorrow to be safe! And leave a big note in the kitchen so I don't stumble in accidentally again :D
  18. @lin_nah No, it's not a fasting test, but my midwife warned me to be careful not to eat anything sweet beforehand.
  19. Maybe it will be OK to do this afternoon if I don't have any more sugar, but I really don't want to fail unnecessarily.
  20. I forgot I was meant to be tested for gestational diabetes today, and just ate a slice of banana cake. Oops. Guess I'll do it tomorrow!
