  5. @teenystweeting ... I hope you're feeling better. You are definitely missed. No one can replace you!! Take care of you.
  6. Most importantly, don't give up. Be true to yourself, trust yourself, believe in yourself, and do what you do best. The rest will be okay!
  7. Don't wait for customers to come to you ... go to them. Post ads and don't be too proud to answer ads.
  8. Make sure your web site is current, getting hits, and searchable. Create new ads, book speaking engagements, and do direct mailings.
  9. Just buckle down and ride it out until business picks up. You still have a ton of daily work to do to generate new customers, so keep at it.
  10. I don't understand how to fly a plane. That doesn't make me a bad person, it just means I am not educated in that industry. That's all.
  11. AND, don't be mad at your friend for the job suggestion. He or she just doesn't get the industry or understand your career.
  12. You don't have to give up if you're committed to and passionate about your marriage or about your career.
  13. That would be like being married for 15 years and divorcing over some difficulty in the marriage. Okay, some do that, BUT ...
  14. ... discourage you or make you second guess yourself. You can't throw away years of work and success over a few rough months.
  15. As with any business, you'll have ups and downs, but you can't give up and you can't let someone's well-intended, but misguided advice ...
  16. In that case we simply have to work harder, pound the pavement more, and keep at it until we generate more customers and educate the others.
  17. BUT, if the customer doesn't understand the industry, they won't pay industry prices and that is usually the reason for slow business.
  18. We do the writing, but that is only part of the process. Our customers would not decline taking their income for 4 months, why would we?
  19. Let's face it ... 50% of zero is zero. Writers don't sell books or guarantee sales ... marketing professionals do that and work for profits.
  20. If you're professional writer you know this is unrealistic, because you are working for free. How will you pay your bills without any money?
