  1. The penultimate version of Final Cut Pro does not allow for the export of interleaved multichannel audio files. Have to create mono-AIFF'S!
  2. It appears Reaper had an issue with case-sensitive HFS volumes. The latest version finally shows all plugins :-)
  3. @yogex Check out my thoughts on the "sonophile" here: http://sonophile.blumlein.net/
  4. @Triplekillsblog Which "Metric Halo" are you referring to? I believe it's not the one I'd think of first.
  5. @tom_lyle BTW, I'll be releasing the 1st blumlein LP early in 2010--as an alternative to a CD-quality download & 24-192k offering… :-)
  6. (Looking into SRC yet again. Thanks to Weiss for the Saracon manual!)
  7. Beware: Clipping can result "from the anti imaging/aliasing filters of the SRC." [http://twitter.com/andrew_l...]
  8. "MS wave files are and will not be able to keep more than 4GB of data due to its internal 32 bit counters." [http://tinyurl.com/yzg6y99]
  9. @ecclesiatic I'm the Reaper-man ;-) No really, I am just getting into it, and there still is a lot to learn.
  10. What I like about digital audio: bouncing w/o a brickwall limiter after you've set the gain to accommodate the loudest passage. Quicker too…
  11. @ecclesiatic Yes, I do all work with Reaper currently, except for surround bounces. Still have to figure that one out ;-)
  12. Too bad Reaper can't create a CAF-file w/o the 4 GB limitation imposed by most programs. At least VLC could play it (from the start only).
  13. My computer just spent a lot of time rendering a 24-192 mix to disc, for me to discover that the resultant wav-file was too big…
  14. Analyzing a 192k recording of a wind quintet there is sonic content (at levels above -124 dB) up to 45 kHz: fluttering horn.
  15. @Lutes I've just reread it, and found it interesting (again), but I believe the effects of "Nyquist"-filtering are not adequately addressed.
  16. @matrocksteady "Record through analog reels for a true vinyl sound?" No way! Cut it to vinyl for a true vinyl sound :-)
  17. @tom_lyle Using turntables because they sound _so_ good is for freaks only (http://sonophile.blumlein.net/ ;-)
  18. @paintballguy113 Nice, audiophile = audio file. Not bad actually, considering you need computer audio files for 24-192 playback.
  19. Interesting: Arcam Solo irDock (http://tinyurl.com/ya5sp2l)
  20. @audioadvisor Please check out my new sonophile release: http://ijmf.blumlein.net/
