  1. @jmoriarty Oddly enough, I ran into a very good group of traditional belly dancers last week at a street festival in Paducah, Ky. (western)
  2. I have connected with my relative, composer Michael Joseph Smith, who apparently lives between S. Sweden, Cannes, LA and Atlanta. Nice guy.
  3. It was a nice day for a sashimi lunch at Sekai Sushi with a side order of eel.
  4. Son is playing very cool experimental music of his own composition on digital piano and recording it. He sometimes does this by the hour.
  5. This is a friend's place on the market in Dayton, OH. I can personally attest it's lovely: http://dayton.craigslist.or...
  6. Experimental music from Michael J. Smith and Brian Lee Sebastian: http://www.myspace.com/mjsm...
  7. As I connect with more of my son's bio relatives (both sides), I am in awe of the sheer creativity and notoriety involved. Double whammy!
  8. My newly found relative, Michael Joseph Smith, was married to Chinese pop star Wei Wei. They have three kids: http://bit.ly/wErih
  9. I found out composer Michael Joseph Smith is my third cousin on my mother's side: http://www.myspace.com/comp...
  10. Heavy, thick air is very interesting but looking forward to going back to the desert tomorrow in all its resplendent radiance.
  11. Went to summer street fest in Paducah, Ky. Saw good bluegrass band from Iowa and local belly dancers (yes, really!), and sucky rock bands.
  12. Shoe shine place in Nashville airport. Sign read "Rhythm Shoe Shine." Eeeek!
  13. Creepy .... saw a woman in Western Kentucky with a rebel flag tattood on her chest. Just saw the top of it, rather.
  14. Saw sign in convenience store in W. Ky.: "No pets" Dogs for the handicapped only." <Sheesh>
  15. I highly commend the restorative powers of 14 hours of sleep at my mother's house -- complete with the sounds of rain on a tin roof.
  16. Degree finished. Defense went well and swiftly.
  17. Enjoying all the green ... and really good drinking water.
  18. We each enjoyed having a whole <row> to ourselves on last night's PHX-BNA flight ... and arriving to temp 37 degrees cooler.
  19. @azpunster As a child I loved scene in The Court Jester where Danny Kaye switches among languages, Cool! Early inspiration for learning FLs!
  20. Whoops! Last-minute run for new earbuds. Can't do without on a three-hour flight.
