The train,
several minutes late - as usual -
leads us to the bustling boardwalks and ocean breezes.

Our eyes close momentarily,
and the passage inundates with another kind of light.

Delicate branches reach down:
fingers wrapped around supports of light;
peering through a passage of silence.

We lean back, falling gently.
Stones like hands
catch our curiosities
at the cusp of a cool wind.

Arches of scoria,
bridging eye to eye.
|

Sadly, I was getting used to clear days and beautiful sunsets, but it feels good to be back. At least I got a few photos from the trip. ;)

Hoping that the roads into Chaco Canyon will be clear when I am in New Mexico next week. The sunset was beautiful during my last visit.
